Experience North East England is the destination marketing agency for our region, ready to promote the North East as a sustainable world class destination to visit, meet and invest.
As the regions lead for visitor economy marketing, we drive our North East Mayoral Strategic Authority’s ambitions to double the value of the visitor economy in the next ten years. We work alongside Visit Northumberland, Visit County Durham and NewcastleGateshead local visitor economy partnerships (LVEPs), all seven local authorities and Newcastle International Airport on shared priorities to grow the region’s visitor economy.
We deliver on behalf of Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council as the first VisitEngland-accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP). We also support the inward investment promotional agency, Invest Newcastle with sector-led and place marketing.

Growing visitor numbers
Visitor Economy Marketing for North East England
Funded by the North East Strategic Mayoral Authority, we inspire and attract visitors to the North East of England by developing new products, unforgettable experiences and by promoting our visitor economy in domestic and global markets. As agency charged with driving visitor economy demand, we develop new unforgettable experiences and deliver inspiring marketing campaigns and media activity, collaborating with regional, national and international partners and industry.
Our goal is to grow the region’s visitor economy by increasing international visitor numbers, positioning our region as a top tourist destination and inspiring visitors to experience our unique culture, landscapes and experiences.
NewcastleGateshead Local Visitor Economy Partnership
We deliver on behalf of Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council as the VisitEngland-accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) for Newcastle and Gateshead. We are part of a national portfolio of strategic tourism bodies, including Visit Northumberland and Visit County Durham, with who we collaborate with on shared priorities to grow the region’s visitor economy.
As a core city destination, our focus is on attracting both national and international visitors to stay longer and spend more in Newcastle and Gateshead.
Meetings, Conferences and Events
As part of our ambitions to grow the visitor economy, through our Convention Bureau we promote North East England as the place to host national and international conferences, meetings and major events. Our award-winning team offers a free service to conference organisers including, venue sourcing and accommodation booking, arranging transport and entertainment for delegates and supporting bid preparations. We also offer a bid writing, venue finding and hotel booking service for businesses and major events, recognised by the conference and events industry.
Attracting investment
Investment and Place Promotion for Newcastle and Gateshead
Under Invest Newcastle, we promote and strategically position Newcastle and Gateshead’s offer to potential investors, helping to attract national and international investment. We deliver or Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council providing promotional services that help fulfil their economic growth ambitions.
Working with closely with our private sector partnership, we undertake a range of place promotion activities, campaigns and events including national and international trade delegations such as MIPIM.
