The new opening, part of the brand’s wider expansion strategy targeting key European cultural capitals, saw Timberland unveil 2,567 square feet of retail space in Metrocentre’s Upper Red Mall, dedicated to showcasing its latest collections of clothing, footwear and accessories for men, women and kids.
This includes everything from waterproof jackets, walking boots, backpacks and beanies, to everyday essentials such as denims, chinos and joggers, to hoodies, sweatshirts and overshirts – and, for warmer weather, t-shirts, polos, shorts and sandals, amongst other items.
All of which are now available to browse and buy in Timberland’s fresh, contemporary store setting complete with oak, leather and concrete detailing, reflective the brand’s blend of rugged durability, sustainability and forward-looking style.
Securing Timberland’s inaugural store in the North East region is the latest in a series of important firsts, further underlining retailer confidence in the visibility, reach and volume of Metrocentre and the strength of our fashion offer. It’s also another huge win for our customers, with wellness trends and hybrid lifestyles increasingly blurring the line between high-performance outerwear, activewear and everyday fashion – a category in which Timberland really excels.
Timberland’s arrival at Metrocentre brings the total number of new brands to invest in the Gateshead destination to 22 in the last year alone, accounting for over 100,000 sq ft of space. This includes the opening of all-new stores such as Urban Outfitters, Stradivarius, Hollister and KENJI, as well as the refurbishment or relocation of existing stores such as Levis and New Look.
