Oliver Henderson Summer Festival set to bring community together
Gateshead residents are invited to enjoy a day of free family fun, live entertainment and community spirit at the Summer Festival in Oliver Henderson Park on Saturday 29 August.
The Oliver Henderson Summer Festival will showcase everything that makes local communities special, bringing together music, food, activities and opportunities to connect with organisations that support neighbourhoods across the borough.
Taking place at Oliver Henderson Park between 12pm and 4pm, the festival promises something for all ages, from free family-friendly rides and live performances to arts and crafts activities and opportunities to discover local services.
The Oliver Henderson Summer Festival is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together and celebrate everything that makes our communities great. Whether you're enjoying the entertainment, trying a new activity or finding out more about the support available locally, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming residents for what promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family.
A packed programme of entertainment on the main stage will feature local bands, singers and performers throughout the day. Families can enjoy free rides, while arts and crafts activities will give children and adults the chance to create and take home their own handmade items.
The festival's community area will feature local organisations offering information, advice and support on a wide range of services. Those looking to try something new can take part in free bowls taster sessions hosted by Leam Lane Bowling Club, open to all ages and abilities.
Visitors are encouraged to travel actively where possible. The venue is served by public transport and has limited on-site parking.
