Berlin returns to Newcastle Airport for third year as Eurowings flights go on sale for 2027

Eurowings is bringing back its popular Berlin route from Newcastle Airport for a third year, with an enhanced schedule offering more convenient flight times.

The award-winning airline will operate twice-weekly services to the German capital every Monday and Friday from April to October 2027, with fares starting from £79.99 one-way.

The new Monday and Friday schedule offers enhanced afternoon departure times, perfect for passengers planning a city break, business trip or extended stay in one of Europe's most vibrant destinations.

The service complements Eurowings' year-round direct route to Dusseldorf, further strengthening connectivity between North East England and Germany.

Berlin attracts millions of visitors each year, offering a unique mix of iconic landmarks, award-winning dining, bustling nightlife and a packed year-round programme of events.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the city with sightseeing cruises along the River Spree, explore its beautiful parks and gardens, or discover its diverse neighbourhoods by bike.

The German capital is home to world-renowned landmarks including the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building and remnants of the Berlin Wall, giving visitors a unique insight into its history.

Berlin is also famous for its thriving food and nightlife scene, with everything from traditional beer gardens and rooftop bars to Michelin-starred restaurants.

The city’s packed programme of events is another major draw, including the annual Carnival of Cultures, held in late May. One of Berlin's largest festivals, it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year with its colourful parades, live performances and international cuisine.

The route continues to receive positive feedback from passengers, who have described Berlin as a "fantastic destination" and their "favourite city break".

Berlin continues to be one of our most popular city-break destinations, so we are delighted that Eurowings has put flights from Newcastle Airport on sale for 2027.

Chris Ion, Head of Aviation Development at Newcastle Airport

Chris Ion added, "The enhanced Monday and Friday schedule, with more convenient flight times, makes it easier for passengers to experience everything Berlin has to offer, from its iconic landmarks and rich history to its vibrant culture, nightlife and events.

"As well as providing direct access to one of Europe's most exciting cities, the route also creates more opportunities for visitors from Germany to discover North East England and everything that makes our region such a great place to visit."

Flights can be booked at www.eurowings.com or through local travel agents.
